£3 ENTRY, SHOWS AT 5 & 8PM, PAY ON THE DOOR, SHOW LENGTH 2 HRS APPROX. (including an interval)
People have often come up to me and said “You know, I wish there was a place where I could go once a season to watch some of your totally subjectively chosen up and coming comedy talents for the price of a cheap knock off KFC meal. Well wish no more, for that is the exact philosophy that “We The Funny” Comedy Club is based on! As a comedian I have been gigging for a little over 2 years, and over that time I have met many fantastic comedians who have little to no public fame, despite many of them being just as good if not better than those you see on TV. So I have set up this potentially seasonal comedy club to: a) Provide up and coming comedians more stage time and exposure to wider audiences in unfamiliar locations. And b) Showcase what I believe to be some of the best underground comedy talent in the country.
At this opening night on the 19th of April 2014 we have acts travelling from as far away as Hull, and while the less geographically knowledge of you google where that is they are already saving up and practicing to perform their fantastic unique brand of comedy for you (should you wish to attend (which you should, because it’ll be epic!)) With 13 acts from around the country each with their own comedic style for only £3 on the door for entry, you’d be crazy to miss it!
So Join as at Ye Olde Rose & Crown Pub in Walthamstow to enjoy what I hope to be the first of many “We The Funny” Comedy Nights! Shows are at 5pm and & 8pm, if for whatever reason you wish to attend both, second ticket will be half price (£4.50 for entry into both shows)
FEATURING:
MC JONATHAN COLLINS
Jonathan Collins is a refugee initially from the planet Mercury in 1542, and through his many years of travels he finds himself trapped inside the body of an 18 year old transvestite from Walthamstow. Having performed over 30 breathtaking gigs in and around London, Essex and Manchester; Jonathan’s style encompasses the Surreal, the Philosophical, the sceptical, the logical and most of all, THE METAL \m/ with hints of observation, storytelling, and some of those puns that make you want to vomit on the person in front of you. With themes spanning from Sex to Black Metal to Transvestism, you know you’re in for a treat with this comic!
“Jonathan brings the unconventional to the fore and challenges your perception of what comedy you thought you enjoyed . Dark in a fluffy way, but sharp enough to keep you guessing . Good things happening here.” ~Johnny Murph
“…Jonathan Collins has an appearance, style and approach to comedy that makes him a rarity on the circuit in terms of his extensive witty absurdities and his tendency to draw both chuckles of elation and big belly laughs from a crowd” ~Robbie Fox
“This deviant comedian shows he’s both evil and genius, really appealing to those who are as open and free as Jesus would be with his religious beliefs if he had seen his own face in his toast and then ate it, he even appeals to the demon in people, so go see his show and get a demonstration” ~Daryl Golden
SERDAR AVCIN:
Serdar Avcin is one of the biggest and most underrated crowd-pleasers of this millennia (And not just in a prostitutional way) with clever observations to make you piss yourself and a lovable personality to make you jizz yourself, Serdar is a pleasure for all of you to enjoy!
ROBSON ERIC
An observational comedian from Manchester who’s been gigging for a little over a year, with a variety of stories and observations unique to him, you’ll be in for a treat with this comic!
EMILY HANN
An absolute natural to the comedy circuit, despite having less than a year’s worth of experience, she does not struggle in the slightest to engage audiences of all types with all her stories and ideas, perfectly timed side comments, and hyper personality, you can’t quite predict what you’re going to get with her, but you’ll know for a fact it’ll be good!
SAM BLACKHURST
A musical comedian, physical comedian, character comedian, this man could do a one man variety show all be himself. An unmissable talent, not just on the comedy circuit, but in any form of performance.
TORI MILLARD
Drop your preconceptions about female comedians, Tori is a top class personality on the comedy circuit, finding a variety of things to talk about other than the stereotypical, a naturally dark nature, yet somehow you can’t help loving her! Do NOT want to miss!
ADAM BOWNASS has been performing magic for the past 15 years. Performing in the heart of London for the past three in Covent garden, as well as in cabaret clubs such as Volupte in the heart of London, and just last month finishing a string of performances alongside other acts we’ve seen here at TNT, he has come a long way since he started learning at the age of just four years old.
“…I laughed, I cried, I loved it better than ‘Cats’ “ – (SAM FINK, Actor)
“…Never heard of him. But if I say he’s amazing will you stop calling me?” – (*Insert Random Celebrity Name Here*)
RYAN LOCK
Witty, Dark, One liner comedian, with jokes that will make you piss yourself laughing, jokes that will make you cry with embarrassment, and jokes that will make you gasp with horror. Great up and coming comic, with delivery and stage presence comparable to Milton Jones, Jimmy Carr & Tim Vine.
CONNOR CULLEN
Loveable high energy comedy from the fantastic Connor Cullen. With his unique style of surrealistic observation and self-depreciative personality you’re bound to fall in love! Provided you’re a middle aged widow with Alzheimer’s. Very quick witted and imaginative with his improvisation, you have just as much chance of knowing what he’s about to say as he does!
“…In his time he’s turned a few heads and a few stomachs” – (ROBBIE FOX)
“…He told me to say something nice about him” – (JONATHAN COLLINS)
JAMES SINCLAIR-BENNETT is a cunt who does parody songs…like the cunt he is’
JACK HERBERT….is a young comedian finding his way in the comedy world. Jack is a really rare young talent and a high risk taker with many controversial materials. With influences from the likes of several budding comedians including Robbie Fox, Jonathan Collins and Connor Cullen; Jack is a wonderful crowd pleaser.
“…Wonderful young talent and lovely personality. Nice to see a fresh young face take such powerful risk” – (AARON WILSON)
“…Loveable stage character which can be completely contrasted by his more risky material, never quite seen anyone like him. A Promising new talent to the circuit” – (JONATHAN COLLINS)
ROBBIE FOX’s stand-up (as his career) has had it’s highs and lows. More recently with a re-surge in his stylings as the character Neuroses has made him somewhat distinctive on the circuit with material breaching over topics massive and miniscule with a certain level of stern cynicism and revealing honesty.
“An inspiration, a revelation, hideously underrated and all around good bloke. Delves into topics most people are afraid to talk about
